D.U.I. Expert Seminar for Attorneys:
“Breathalyzer 101” is the 2 hour CLE Seminar for attorneys that I was a part of, with the Federal Bar Association and MyLawCLE.com is still available for viewing and CLE credit in the attorney’s home State. Attorneys who purchase and view this course will be credited with 2 hours CLE. I specifically explained the proper protocol that is to be used in preliminary breath tests (PBT) and the evidentiary breathalyzers machines as well as breathalyzer operator procedures. I also cited examples of common “errors and omissions” with breathalyzer tests and machines in DUI cases.

DUI Expert Witness:
I have been qualified as a D.U.I. Expert Witness in court. I have testified as an Expert Witness in over 20 DUI cases during the past eight years. In Illinois cases as well as outside of Illinois, including West Virginia and as far as Saipan (Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands). Prior to retiring from the Police Dept. I was a State Certified Standardized Field Sobriety Test Instructor, having taught Police Officers Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and D.U.I. procedures. I was also a State Certified Breathalyzer Operator, having administered over a thousand breathalyzer tests and a D.U.I. “Top Cop” ranking #15 in the State Of Illinois for the years 2011 and 2012.

Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus
Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus is known as H.G.N. , it is the involuntary jerking of the eye due to drug or alcohol impairment. It is the first test in D.U.I. investigations but it is also an indicator of brain injuries and head trauma such as concussions. H.G.N. is recognized by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, the Legal Community and Medical Personnel.
For Security Officers I have developed a class for security officers to recognize and deal with subjects under the influence of drugs, especially PCP, and alcohol.
